Twenty-Seven brand new, exciting, powerful, and wondrous colors that met or even exceeded our expectations. We were so happy with the colors that we decided that they deserved a special yarn, our Lhasa Wilderness (75/25 Yak/bamboo), a yarn that we has been a customer favorite since we released it. A very special yarn for very special colors!
The one thing we felt that was missing, however, were tartan colors. We could not find a way to dye true tartans on a strand of yarn. But what we found we could do is over dye the natural brown with very bright, loud and garish colors such as hot pink and chartreuse and the result was a skein of yarn subdued colors that are very reminiscent of tartans.
Shimmery, light, and oh-so-soft, this blend of Yak and Bamboo is as delightful to knit with as it is to wear! Soft and lightweight yak fiber is blended to perfection with breathable bamboo fibers which are also naturally anti-bacterial. This yarn has it all: softness and strength, plus an excellent hand and drape, all in a versatile sport weight! Available in a soft natural brown, a creamy natural white as well as 13 brilliant semi-solid and 5 variegated colors hand-dyed by Lorna's Laces.
Important Note: Bijou Basin Ranch recently increased the put up this yarn, Lhasa Wilderness, our 75/25 Yak/bamboo blend. Lhasa Wilderness has gone from 180 yards per skein to 250, an increase of 35%. What that means is that if you are going to knit one of our older patterns you will now need fewer skeins of yarn to complete the project
The long and short of it is that for every four skeins the old projects call for, you now only need to purchase three! See the chart below for more details.
