I bought the yak yarn as a Christmas gift for my sister. It feels so soft and I'm sure she will love having something different to work with.

I picked up my first skein of Bijou Spun Sport Weight, 100% Yak yarn at a Sheep and Wool Festival. Selecting one skein was a very difficult process--but I was swayed by the hat, gloves and scarf set knit in this yarn. I bought the pattern for the set and began knitting, I made a hat and the gloves from my first skein and have since ordered a second skein to make that scarf. The pattern was clear and easy to follow. This yarn has a good hand and knits will on bamboo needles. I look forward to the next excuse I can manufacture to buy more yarn from you.

Since I purchased the yak yarn I have started a scarf/shawl called Herbivore by Stephen West. Lovely pattern shows of the deep rich brown of the yarn. But, great as that is, the best thing is how incredibly soft it is. I love, love, love this yarn.
Bijou Basin is a wonderful place to purchase yarn. Very prompt in completing the order and I received it in a couple of days. Every thing I want in a fiber store!

This is the first time I've worked with Yak down. It is incredibly soft and easy to work with. I've begun a stranded sweater using the beautiful, natural colors and get compliments from everyone who sees it. I'm enjoying it so much...it's hard to put down.
